Dr. Francesca “Cheska” Ferrentelli, Ph.D.

Licensed Professional Counselor & Board Certified Coach

A therapist for almost 30 years, her clinical career began in 1991 at the Rader Institute, an inpatient Eating Disorders program at Lutheran Medical Center. There she worked with patients facing anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders. Her work with Bariatric patients began in 1998. In 2002, she went into private practice for psychotherapy, providing counseling to individuals, couples, children, and families.

Dr. Ferrentelli’s approach to psychotherapy can be tremendously helpful if you are struggling with disordered eating, difficulties after bariatric surgery, body image, alcohol recovery, trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship issues or life transitions. Her methods have been informed by Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic therapy, Jungian, archetypal and depth psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mind/body therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She is also very influenced by Positive Psychology, a field founded on helping people discover what makes them happy and guiding them to lead more fulfilled lives.

Prior to becoming a counselor, she spent 10 years in sales and marketing developing skills in setting and achieving goals. Combined with her psychological training, Dr. Ferrentelli has a distinct advantage in helping individuals make the life transitions they desire. She uses her depth of experience to assist her clients in developing newer, healthier patterns in their lives.

In addition to her clinical work, she is the author of a children’s book, [Book Title] <hyperlink to book tab>, coming out this fall.
